6 Practical Ways to Think Like Christ
Each and every day I’m asking God to renew my mind. At one point the enemy had me thinking because I wasn’t physically doing any of the evil things I had once thought, I was less of a sinner and living more like Christ. The truth is, asking “WHAT WOULD JESUS DO” isn’t always enough, but instead asking ourselves “HOW WOULD JESUS THINK”. We are only Human but that excuse wont be enough to get us IN. Ask the Holy Spirit to renew your mind all day, every day and tell Him exactly how. “Holy Spirit replace my hateful thoughts with love and kindness, replace my jealous thoughts with admiration of God’s love for me, replace my lustful thoughts with thirst and hunger for your Word”. Evil thoughts can easily creep into our hearts. Let’s be intentional about our thoughts, not acting isn’t enough.
The process of thinking like Christ involves more than just following His actions; it requires a transformational renewal of the mind that aligns our thoughts with His teachings. According to biblical principles, especially those found in the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5 to 7), believers are called to avoid anger, hatred, and lust—not just in actions but also in thoughts and intentions. Practicing this mindset enhances personal faith and promotes healthier relationships with others and God. One crucial aspect is to be intentional about replacing harmful thoughts with virtuous ones. The Holy Spirit assists believers by renewing the mind and transforming hateful, jealous, or lustful thoughts into love, admiration, and a hunger for God's Word. This daily mental discipline helps prevent evil thoughts from taking root and guiding behavior. For instance, avoiding anger not only means refraining from acts of rage but also managing feelings of hatred internally to maintain peace and forgiveness. Furthermore, maintaining a Kingdom mindset encourages believers to seek justice, mercy, and love for both themselves and others, reflecting Jesus’s teachings on reconciliation and faithfulness. The call to renew your mind resonates strongly through the hashtag themes like #FaithInAction, #KingdomMindset, and #RenewYourMind, highlighting the importance of practical faith expression. In addition, avoiding actions like murder, adultery, casual divorces, and irreverent oaths, as referenced in Matthew chapters 5:21–37, emphasizes purity in both thought and deed. Remember, the transformation is a holistic one—from the heart to outward actions. By focusing on how Jesus would think, not just what He would do, individuals grow in spiritual depth and integrity, reflecting genuine Christian character in every aspect of life.
