Nature travel in Bangkok
The anecdote island was formed by digging the "anecdote canal," a short curve of the Chao Phraya River in the time of His Majesty at the end of the Pool of Sri Ayutthaya (1765). The tide eroded its banks until the canal was widened into an island. It was originally called "Sala Gun Island." Later, when the Mon people migrated to settle during Bangkok-Ratchonin, it became a Mon cultural community and pottery center.
