Who else feel like this?

2024/3/31 Edited to

... Read moreOkay, so I saw that post, and honestly, I couldn't agree more! It's such a common modern dilemma, isn't it? You send a quick text, expecting a text back, and then BAM! Your phone rings. It's like, I appreciate you wanting to connect, but my brain was totally ready for a quick, asynchronous chat, not an immediate vocal exchange! The illustration perfectly captures that exasperation of 'WHEN YOU TEXT THEM' and then 'AND THEY CALL BACK'. For me, the biggest thing is flexibility. I can reply when I have a spare moment, without having to drop everything. It's perfect for when I'm at work, in a quiet place, or just not in the mood for an impromptu chat that might last ages. Plus, it gives me time to actually think about my response, which is great for avoiding awkward silences or saying something I might regret later! When I'm texting someone, whether it's a friend, family member, or even a colleague for a quick question, I feel like I'm in control of my time and attention. It's interesting how different relationships dictate our communication style and who are they texting most often. With my close friends, we're almost exclusively texting, sharing memes, quick updates, or planning our next hangout. It's just so much easier to coordinate. My family, on the other hand, sometimes prefers a call for longer catch-ups, but even then, a text to schedule it works wonders! For work, it's usually email or messaging apps, but I definitely prefer a text for quick clarifications with colleagues rather than a call that might interrupt their flow. Then there's the multi-tasking aspect. I can be cooking dinner, walking the dog, or even just relaxing on the couch, and still manage to send a thoughtful text. A phone call demands my full attention, and sometimes, I just don't have that to give without feeling rushed or distracted. This preference for texting over calling isn't about avoiding people; it's about optimizing communication for modern life. Of course, there are times when a call is absolutely necessary. Emergencies, deep emotional conversations, or when you need to explain something super complicated – that's when picking up the phone makes sense. But for everyday interactions, especially with the people I text regularly, I find texting just so much more efficient and less intrusive. I've learned to subtly communicate my preference. Sometimes, a quick 'Hey, can I text you back? I'm a bit busy right now' works wonders. Or even just consistently replying with texts trains people over time. It's about finding that balance where everyone feels respected in their communication style. What do you all do when someone calls you back after you've texted them? I'm always looking for polite ways to navigate this common communication hurdle!

Who Else Stress Eats Without Realizing It?
I catch myself doing it all the time, reaching for snacks the moment I feel anxious, sad, or overwhelmed. It’s not even about hunger; it’s about comfort. Sometimes I’m not even hungry at all, but I get this strong, almost desperate feeling that I need to eat something just to calm down. It’s like m

A text exchange shows the husband's hurt over his family's treatment of his wife, with a family member suggesting the wife tries too hard and needs to understand people are busy. The user notes this is her husband and his mom.
A text from a family member accuses the wife of disrespect and being 'butthurt' for not getting constant replies, while criticizing the husband for taking her side without knowing the full story.
Text messages show the user checking on her husband's sister, who then responds angrily, accusing the user of acting like a child, having opinions, and not respecting boundaries.

I hear a lot about people who feel the same way, but because their family is toxic. Not mine really. It's more that I hate myself when I'm with them. Everything I dislike about myself is 100x worse (I don't speak much and am generally boring. I've worked a lot on that and did a lot

Is anyone else in the same boat?? 🙋‍♀️ Fridge organizers to me seem like the height of overconsumption on organizing products. They are so not needed and can sometimes add to the clutter of a fridge. Fridges have literally already been made to separate certain types of food from each other.

So I’ve been actually taking content creation seriously this year. I always wanted to but I was always second guessing myself about everything. I’m naturally a private person so I felt like content creation wouldn’t really fit me. I realized I was really keeping myself inside a box. One of the hard

WHO ELSE IS A WORKAHOLIC?
I didn’t think that working 2 jobs would be possible, but it is. I wouldn’t say that I enjoy working, but I do enjoy staying busy and making money. I just hate staying at home and I also feel like if I’m not doing something I’m being lazy and I also don’t have anything else better to do with myself
