Cities I Won’t Be Going Back To

I wish every place you visited could just take your breath away, but there are some that just simply don’t. I’m always grateful for the experience to visit a new city and country, but sometimes you’re left feeling like you don’t need to visit that place again. Here are 3 places I won’t be visiting again:

Dubai - Dubai is one of the most unique places I’ve been to, but not necessarily in a good way. Don’t get me wrong, it was cool to experience, but something about the city is a little eerie. The buildings are mostly empty, the people are all ex-pats, and it was just hard for me to define “Dubai culture”

Tulum - hot take! For some reason every post I make on Tulum gets so many views and likes and I never understand why. To me, Tulum was built for the influencer, not for the traveler. It’s too focused on appealing to the influencer trying to get the perfect shot vs the traveler wanting to immerse themselves in culture. It’s a no from me.

Bangkok - meh. Plain and simple. There are so many other places in Thailand that I would visit as it is a BEAUTIFUL country with the nicest people. Skip Bangkok though :)

Hope this helps someone!

... Read moreTraveling can sometimes lead to unexpected feelings about certain places. Dubai, while known for its modernity and luxury, often lacks a genuine cultural vibe, making visitors feel disconnected. Many visitors report that despite its striking architecture, the absence of traditional culture can leave a lingering sense of emptiness. Tulum, on the other hand, has become synonymous with influencer culture. This coastal town is filled with picturesque spots aimed at social media enthusiasts, but it often leaves the rich Mexican heritage overshadowed. Instead of immersive experiences, many visitors find themselves caught up in a chase for the perfect Instagram post. Lastly, Bangkok, despite being a major city, often feels unremarkable to many travelers. While Thailand is a beautiful country, many believe that Bangkok doesn't capture the charm found in other Thai cities. With countless alternatives in Thailand that are more vibrant and culturally rich, many suggest skipping the metropolis altogether. In conclusion, travel preferences vary widely. What may not resonate with one traveler could be another's favorite spot. It's important to reflect on what you seek in your journeys—whether it's culture, community, or breathtaking scenery.
