A much cheaper, but just as beautiful option!
Appenzell - I’ve only called 3 places in the world “magical” (to me of course) and Appenzell is one of them! It’s a great alternative to the more known Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald. Not only are there less people, it’s much much cheaper than a lot of the more known mountain towns in Switzerland. Nestled in the Alps only two hours by train from Zurich, Airbnb’s and hotels are a fraction of the price without losing any of that mountain town charm. It’s a hiker’s dream, but anyone can enjoy the majestic views here either via hike or via gondolas around the mountains. I have been here 3 times already and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon! Have I convinced ya yet? I promise you won’t regret it!
