Beautiful luna moth

The luna moth is one of the most captivating moth species found in North America, renowned for its striking lime-green wings and long, elegant tails. Unlike many moths that are purely nocturnal and often overlooked, the luna moth stands out due to its impressive size—wingspan can reach up to 4.5 inches—and its ethereal glow under moonlight. Observing luna moths in the wild can be an unforgettable experience. Their life cycle is relatively short; the adult moths do not have functional mouths and thus do not feed. This means they live only about a week, dedicating their time solely to reproduction.
