"Jesus is my Rock"
Matthew 7:24-29
“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.
What if you had to build a home. But it was unknown whether or not it was located in a place of safety.
The history of the area suggests that living there is dangerous but you have no choice!
You just watched your neighbor finish building one, only to see it was washed away by the flash floods that are common to the area!
But without it being in that exact spot, the rest of your family wouldn't be able to see the lights from your house. So they wouldn't be able to see the way, and you would be in danger and you might be a little short handed on help if trouble came!
You've witnessed the floods!
There's evidence that suggests they could wash entire towns down stream!
There's also evidence that harsh winds have battered and even broken the highest of limbs in the tallest of tree tops!
But it's cool, your level headed and calm because you have 'blueprints' that ensure the home that you are about to build is Everlasting and 'Everything' Proof!
Not only that but the Designer and Master Architect Himself, offered to live in the house with you, in this "sanctuary in a war zone", so to speak!
So, will you build your house according to His instructions and blueprints? Or will you opt out for the lot with the perfect view?
You have had some luck in the past after all! You can possibly build Him a guest house?
That is exactly the decision Believers in Jesus have to make!
So ask yourself... Do I heed His advice?
Jesus, You are my fortress! My Castle on the hill! Where You go I will follow! Where you say dwell, I will dwell. And where You say build, I will build! For it's You that are are the Master Architect, the Master Builder, the Creator of all things and it's You that is subject to no one! Keep us sheltered according to Your Plan!
