"For we walk by faith, not by sight"

John 21:24-25

"This is the disciple who is bearing witness about these things, and who has written these things, and we know that his testimony is true. [25] Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written."

This is the last two verses in the Gospel of John.

Can you imagine being one of the first to witness the resurrection of Jesus, the Messiah written about in this book and others so many years earlier? Being one of the first to see Jesus as God? It makes me think of how many people now God has revealed Himself to, and in what ways...

In this act of revealing Himself God, allows us to have an intimate relationship with Him, one that is far beyond human comprehension.

It shifts the human experience from trying to figure God out on one's own, to experiencing God's love and guidance through the gifts of creation, scripture, and the Holy Spirit.

John 14:12

“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.

The book of John ends with a conclusion that fuels a new beginning. The works of Jesus, which were written to initiate faith, give rise to the greater works of believers, who carry that faith into the future.

So Jesus is the artist, who's legacy is not just in His original masterpieces but also in the countless expansions to be made by his followers throughout history.
