When Did We Forget How Good It Feels to Play?
Sometimes joy looks like forgetting your age for a minute and letting yourself play. 🤍🦋
I’ve found that life often becomes so busy with responsibilities that we forget the simple joy of play. Whether it’s as small as skipping down the street, playing a quick game, or just being silly without worry, these moments reconnect us with our inner child and bring lightness to our days. One thing that’s helped me is scheduling regular ‘play breaks.’ These aren’t huge time commitments—sometimes it’s just dancing to my favorite song or drawing with crayons. It instantly shifts my mood and opens up space for creativity and happiness. We often think growing up means stepping away from playful freedom, but in reality, allowing ourselves to play fosters wellbeing and stress relief. Playfulness reminds us we’re never too old to feel free again, as the text on the image beautifully puts it: “When did growing up start meaning we had to stop playing?” It’s a call to reframe how we view adulthood—not as a limit to joy but as an opportunity to choose it intentionally. By consciously inviting play back into our routines, we reconnect with our soul and brighten everyday moments. So, next time you feel weighed down by grown-up worries, just pause and ask yourself—what playful thing can I do right now? The answer might just bring back the lightheartedness that feels so good.
