THE GUY I SWIPED ON DATING APP PREVIOUSLY GOT ENGAGED 🥳
We’ve been following each other on Instagram for years but never spoke. Today, I saw that he got engaged thru his insta post and I was super happy for him!!!! They look so so good together & he met his financee on dating app. I’m so glad we didn’t meet up, or have any progress and it just reminds me what’s meant to be or what’s fated to be will be.
2 years ago when I was fresh out of a pretty bad mentally & emotionally drained situationship, I went onto bumble immediately to fill up the emotional void. I swiped onto this christian lawyer handsome family oriented smart guy which is exactly the package all girls wished for. We had good chats and he asked to meet, but I ghosted him after as I felt terribly bad to put myself in a situation where Im not ready to date, furthermore he sounded so genuine and the last I would want to hurt or toy with anyone’s feelings. I wanted to heal properly first, and we’ll see if there’s a good time I could reach out to him again but I never did because it took me 8 months to heal hahaha
It made me feel a little better about my grieving process in moving on now - perhaps the fate with my ex has ended, but he came into my life for a good reason - that right time was exactly why we needed each other and the good memories we forged and the love he gave throughout the r/s up until the discussion whether to break up was filled with tears love and for the better of each other always reminds me that love can be so precious.
While this latest r/s has scared me right now and I’m trying to heal from the fact why someone who could genuinely love me would choose to leave me on good terms.

From my experience, seeing someone you once connected with on a dating app get engaged can stir a flood of emotions—ranging from joy for their happiness to introspective thoughts about your own romantic journey.
In my journey, the concept of fate has been a comforting guide. Sometimes, relationships that don't last are not failures but chapters necessary for our growth. For example, I once ended communication with someone who seemed like an ideal partner because I wasn't emotionally ready. Leaving that open-ended was painful but ultimately vital for my healing.
Healing after a situationship or relationship that drained you emotionally is crucial before stepping into new romantic experiences. Rushing into dating to fill a void rarely leads to lasting fulfillment. Instead, taking time to reflect, understand your needs, and rebuild your emotional strength can empower you to recognize genuinely compatible partners when the time is right.
Recently, I was also in a relationship that ended on good terms but left me wondering why someone who seemed to truly love me chose to leave. Such experiences can be daunting, yet they offer profound lessons about self-worth, acceptance, and the unpredictable nature of love.
If you find yourself in a similar position—grieving past relationships while watching former connections move on—remember that your path to love is unique. Every encounter has a purpose, shaping your understanding of what you want and deserve. Embracing this perspective has helped me appreciate good memories without clinging to what was lost.
Lastly, sharing these experiences openly helps us realize we're not alone in our struggles. It fosters empathy and encourages a healthy outlook on love and healing. Whether it’s through support groups, friends, or social media communities, connecting with others can provide comfort and inspiration during vulnerable times.
