No rest for the weary
The Spear of Leonidas loses its power
Hey fellow misthios! If you're diving into the epic world of Assassin's Creed Odyssey, you know the legendary Spear of Leonidas is at the heart of your journey. I remember when I first started, I was constantly wondering, "how do I get the Spear of Leonidas AC Odyssey?" and more importantly, how do I make it powerful enough to face off against the cultists and mythical beasts? Good news: you actually start with it! The Spear of Leonidas isn't an item you find; it's a sacred family heirloom, a powerful Artifact of Ruin that literally becomes part of you. The real quest isn't finding it, but unlocking its true potential and preventing it from feeling like it "loses its power" as you progress through Greece. Upgrading the Spear is absolutely crucial. This is where its "power" truly comes from, and it's what makes you feel like a true demigod. You need to visit Herme's Workshop, usually found near the entrance of your ship, the Adrestia. To upgrade it, you'll need two things: Drachmae (your in-game currency) and, more importantly, *Artifact Fragments*. These fragments are the key to evolving the Spear. You primarily get them by hunting down and eliminating members of the Cult of Kosmos. Each cultist you defeat drops a few fragments, and trust me, you'll be hunting a lot of them! Additionally, defeating the mythical creatures – the Minotaur, the Cyclops, Medusa, and the Sphinx – also grants a significant amount of fragments. These encounters are some of the most memorable in the game, challenging your combat skills and often requiring clever puzzle-solving, especially for the Sphinx. I remember the thrill of finally taking down the Cyclops and seeing those precious fragments pop up – it felt like a huge step in boosting my abilities. Each time you upgrade the Spear, you unlock new tiers of abilities for your character. These aren't just cosmetic changes; they significantly enhance your combat prowess, allowing you to use more powerful active abilities and build up Adrenaline faster. Without these upgrades, the Spear can definitely feel weak, almost like it's "losing its power" against tougher enemies, which is exactly why focusing on those cultist hunts is so vital. It’s all about embracing the Creed: *Nothing is True, Everything is Permitted*, especially when it comes to strategically taking down your enemies and upgrading your gear! So, if your Spear feels underpowered, don't fret! Just keep progressing through the main storyline, eliminating those pesky cultists, and tackling the mythical creature quests. Every upgrade makes a noticeable difference, transforming your humble spear into the legendary weapon it's meant to be. Trust me, once you max it out, you'll feel unstoppable!
