In my personal journey of faith, I have often pondered the question posed in the image: "Why was Barabbas set free?" This reflection led me to a deeper understanding of grace and forgiveness. Barabbas, a criminal, was freed instead of Jesus, the innocent Savior, which symbolizes the exchange that lies at the heart of Christian belief—Jesus taking the place of sinners. This perspective invites us to see ourselves in Barabbas. Like him, we all fall short and are in need of mercy. The realization that 'Barabbas was me' speaks to the personal acceptance of one's imperfections and the need for redemption.
