Commissions

Some $55 sketchy flat color commissions I completed this past month. Two more were nsfw so they won’t be in this post. But I have five more slots open. #commissions #commissionsopen

... Read moreHey everyone! I'm so excited to share more about the flat color commissions I've been working on lately. You might have seen some of my recent pieces, like the elegant dancing couple – a blonde man in a blue shirt and black cape with a dark-haired woman in a purple dress and animal ears, or that powerful blue-skinned, horned figure with tattoos on an iridescent throne wielding a large sword. I even got to create a classic scene with a man in a white and blue suit dancing with a woman in a black formal dress! It’s been such a joy bringing these visions to life for clients, and I really love the clean, vibrant look that flat color brings to an artwork. For those of you wondering, 'What exactly is a flat color commission?' – it's a popular art style where characters or subjects are filled with solid, unshaded colors. Think bold outlines and clear, distinct hues! What I personally love about this style is how it makes the characters pop without getting lost in complex shading, making them perfect for profile pictures, character references, or even unique gifts. It's also a fantastic entry point if you're new to commissioning art, as it's often more affordable than fully rendered pieces, like my $55 slots! If you're thinking about getting your own custom flat color commission, here's a little peek into my process and some tips for you! Firstly, clear communication is key. When you reach out, tell me as much as you can about your idea. Do you have a specific character in mind, like a fantasy hero or a beloved OC? Providing reference photos, descriptions of outfits (like a specific blue shirt or a purple dress), poses, and even expressions really helps me capture your vision. For instance, the client for the dancing couple provided great reference for their characters' dynamics. Even small details, like tattoos or specific weapon designs for a horned figure, make a huge difference. Once I have your details, I'll usually start with a rough sketch for your approval. This is where we make sure we’re on the same page before moving to the 'flat color' stage. It’s always exciting to see the colors come to life after the lines are clean! I aim for a quick turnaround, typically within a week or two, depending on the complexity and my current workload. I also offer a couple of minor revisions to ensure you're absolutely thrilled with the final piece. Getting custom art is such a personal journey, and I want to make sure it's a fun and rewarding experience for you. So, if you've been dreaming of a unique piece of art, don't hesitate to grab one of my open slots – I can't wait to create something special for you!
