TMC hospital food

What i ate at Thomson Medical for my 3D2N hospital stay!

Checked in at 12 midnight for induction procedure. Induction was a success, and cervix was dilated to 3cm in just one hour. During the gynae check in the next morning at 9am, cervix was 7cm and gynae broke the water bag. Was put on a no further food diet, hence the breakfast pre-ordered went to my husband instead 😅 could only drink a few sips of water in preparation for upcoming labour

Baby was out at 1 plus pm! But by the time all the stitches and follow-up monitoring was done, it was already nearing 4pm, and TMC was not serving lunch anymore so I lost out on one lunch meal!😕 they served me a cup of hot milo in the meantime. Dinner meal was only ready at 6pm!

For the meal choices, there is choice of chinese, confinement, asian delight, western, indian vegetarian or vegetarian meals.

For breakfast, it is served with a choice of hot beverage and fruit juice, and you can also request for additional plain/toasted bread with jam or margarine.

The famous TMC fish and green papaya soup will be served at 10am each day. A cup of hot red date tea is also given each morning at 10 plus am, and you can request for additional cups of it throughout the day.

On the day of check out, they will also serve a cup of hot milo and some cheese sandwich at around 12 noon for light snack if you are still pending discharge check out!

If you are staying in their one bedder room, your companion will also get 1 complimentary dinner meal and daily breakfast for the stay!

The hospital offers diverse meal options tailored to different dietary preferences such as Chinese, confinement, Western, Indian vegetarian, and vegetarian meals. This ensures patients from various backgrounds can find meals suitable to their tastes and nutritional needs. One thoughtful touch is the daily serving of the renowned TMC fish and green papaya soup at 10am, which is both nutritious and comforting. Alongside this, patients receive hot red date tea each morning, a traditional beverage believed to aid recovery and enhance energy. It's nice that patients can request extra servings of the tea throughout the day, which adds to the level of personalized care. For those with companions, staying in a one-bedroom room is a perk, as it includes complimentary breakfast and dinner for the companion—allowing family or friends to stay nourished and comfortable as well. On discharge day, a light snack like a cheese sandwich with hot Milo is offered, which shows attention to detail in patient care. Though the timing of meal serving can sometimes be impacted by medical procedures—as I experienced losing one lunch meal due to timing post-delivery—the hospital staff try to accommodate by providing alternatives like a hot Milo drink. This responsiveness helped me feel cared for despite the challenges. If you have specific dietary requirements or preferences, it might be useful to pre-order meals or communicate them early. The ability to choose additional bread with jam or margarine during breakfast also adds to meal flexibility. Overall, the hospital food at Thomson Medical combines variety, nutrition, and traditional comforts, contributing positively to the recovery experience. My personal experience confirmed that while medical care was paramount, having reliable and tasty food options played a key role in maintaining my energy and spirits during the stay.

We got a free TMC room upgrade!✨
We were initially deciding between premier single room ($888+) and 1-bedded room ($788+). The difference between the two is that the premier single room has a drink station machine in the room itself, sofa bed slightly bigger, and is situated on level 3 where the other suite rooms are (so there

Why i went from KKH to Thomson at 28 weeks 🤰
We went the subsidised route from the start, from polyclinic to KKH. In my second trimester, I started researching labour ward and delivery at KKH. Found out that hospital beds at KKH are based on first-come-first-served basis which was a major turn off for me. My non-negotiable was for my husb

4 Things I wish I knew in my 2nd Trimester
I thought the 2nd Trimester was the "honeymoon phase," but nobody told me about the random leg cramps and the sudden "pop"! 😳 Now that I’m officially just out of the thick of it, I’m realizing that while the first trimester was all about survival, the second is all about decisions.

Cost of Delivery at TMC [2024]
Yeah… 24 months late but who’s counting? 😅 Motherhood’s a whole vibe. TikTok saw this first, but I’m dropping it here too—for the memories and maybe some helpful tea. PS: Costs reflected are probably a bit inflated since TMC usually does yearly cost adjustments.
