SG Pilates Review

🇸🇬 I Tried Reformer Pilates Studios Across Singapore (using ClassPass Trial) ✨

I have been getting into reformer pilates recently, so I used the ClassPass trial to try different studios for SG Pilates. Here’s my honest experience! 🤍

📍lakeside

✨ Pros:

• conveniently located right beside lakeside mrt

• toilet, changing room and water cooler accessible from entrance with seats to wait for your class to start

• spacious area

🤔 Cons:

• Class felt slightly crowded at 15 pax capacity

• Construction noise going on outside. Even when instructor is using a microphone, i couldnt really hear clearly

📍Dhoby Ghaut

✨ Pros:

• walking distance to dhoby ghaut mrt

• toilet is the shopping mall toilet

• smallest class size at 10 pax

🤔 Cons:

• fitting room accessible only during the 10mins in between classes

• no water cooler

• no waiting area outside the class. Need to stand and wait

📍Holland Village

✨ Pros:

• Convenient location near holland village mrt

• Changing room, toilet and water cooler available at entrance

🤔 Cons:

• 15 pax class

📍Beauty World

✨ Pros:

• Convenient location near holland village mrt

• Changing room, toilet and water cooler available at entrance

🤔 Cons:

• toilet and water cooler only accessible at the back of the class. So you can only access it during the 10mins interval between change of class

• 15 pax class

💭 Overall:

✨ What I loved:

• Same setup and procedures for all outlets so you will be familiar with it after one class!

• Clear cues given for beginners to follow

• Clean, bright and well-maintained studio with different colour theme for each outlet

• Challenging but still enjoyable (i actually did 4 classes over 5 days LOL)

🤔 Cons:

• Instructors were not quite friendly (only 1 out of 4 was more friendly); not the chit chatty small talk before class kind

• Class size not that small, so there is no opportunity for personalised correction 95% of the time

• Felt a little rushed just to get through all the steps for the class

💰 Is the ClassPass trial worth it?

100% yes!

Instead of signing an expensive package immediately, I got to:

✔️ Compare different instructors

✔️ Experience different teaching styles

✔️ Find the studio that suits me best

✔️ Save money while exploring

Every studio has a different vibe, and the instructor really makes a huge difference.

If you are thinking of starting reformer pilates, I recommend trying a few studios/ even diff outlet location first before purchasing a package!

Have you tried any reformer pilates studios in Singapore? Which one is your favourite? 🫶

... Read moreFrom my experience trying various SG Pilates studios, I found that each outlet has a distinct atmosphere and practical features worth noting. The Lakeside studio benefits immensely from its MRT accessibility and spacious layout, though the ongoing construction noise and crowded classes somewhat detracted from the experience. Meanwhile, Dhoby Ghaut’s smaller class size of 10 made it feel more personal, but the lack of dedicated waiting areas and water coolers was inconvenient. Holland Village and Beauty World studios shared similar pros with convenient locations and basic amenities, but both had large classes and limited access to facilities during sessions. One aspect I hadn’t anticipated was how important the instructor’s demeanor is in shaping the session’s vibe. Though the studios had consistent setup and class procedures—helping me to quickly acclimate—the interactions were mostly businesslike, with minimal casual conversation. This contrasts with some other fitness classes I’ve taken, where a friendly instructor can boost motivation significantly. Using ClassPass for the trial period was a cost-effective way to compare teaching styles and facilities without committing upfront. I highly recommend this approach for anyone interested in reformer Pilates in Singapore, especially beginners. Trying out different studios and days allowed me to understand what environment and pacing suit me best. I also realized that studio cleanliness, color-coded themes, and equipment maintenance contribute a lot to the overall comfort and workout enjoyment. For those new to reformer Pilates, it’s helpful to pay attention to class size if personalized correction matters to you. Larger groups may limit instructor feedback, affecting form improvement over time. If you prioritize a quieter and more focused session, studios with smaller classes or less busy times may be worth investigating. Ultimately, reformer Pilates demands patience and consistency, but with the right studio and instructor, it can be both a challenging and rewarding workout. If you decide to try SG Pilates, I suggest booking a few trial classes first. It’s a great way to experience how various centers handle the flow and instruction, allowing you to pick a location where you feel genuinely comfortable and motivated.
