# MacBook Neo review after 2 weeks of practical use

When it comes to notebooks that are suitable for students, students, or document workers this year, the MacBook Neo is another very interesting machine, with its lightness, beautiful design, long-lasting battery, and performance that is stronger than expected from the Apple A18 Pro chip.

After about two weeks of actual use, I saw the MacBook Neo as a very "comfortable" machine with portability, system fluidity, and interoperability between Hardware and Apple Software.

# # Design and materials

The body is aluminum, all by Apple standards, feels strong and premium. It is available in four colors: Silver, Blush, Citrus, and Indigo. The design is still elegant in the MacBook style and weighs only about 1.23-1.24 kilograms, making it very suitable to carry to school or work outside.

# # Screen

The MacBook Neo comes with a 13-inch Liquid Retina screen, supporting up to 1 billion colors, a resolution of 3.6 megapixels, and a maximum brightness of 500 nits. The colors are quite beautiful and sharp, suitable for watching movies, doing paperwork, or composing general images.

A very favorite spot is "No Notch," making the screen look clean and use a full space.

# # Performance

The core of the machine is the 6-Core CPU-based Apple A18 Pro chip and 5-Core GPU, working with 8GB RAM and 256GB or 512GB capacity.

In practical use, I see overall performance as much better than expected, especially general tasks such as opening multiple tabs of Safari, documenting, using Affinity, or watching videos. The machine is completely fluid, and when it is used on macOS Tahoe, it is very compatible.

I also tried DaVinci Resolve, which is practical, but when I start editing heavily or rendering videos, it gets hot and retardant pretty quickly, because it is a fan-free cooling system.

Overall, it is therefore better suited to general work, paperwork, composing and light-level editing.

# # Keyboard and Trackpad

The MacBook Neo's Keyboard is a Magic Keyboard designed in color to match the body. It looks pretty and harmonious. The print is considered to work well by MacBook standards.

The Trackpad is mechanical, not the senior Force Touch, but also supports the full Multi-Touch Gesture, such as zoom or face change.

# # Connection

The machine provides two USB-C ports. The first one near the screen is USB 3.1 Gen 2, 10Gb / s speed, suitable for external SSD or external monitor.

The other is USB 2.0, which is more suitable for charging. This is a pity constraint, because if both are USB 3, it will be much richer.

It also has a 3.5mm headphone cavity, support for High-Impedance headphones, as well as support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 6.0.

The battery is considered to be at a good level for general use.

After two weeks of use, I saw the MacBook Neo as a notebook that was ideal for students, students, paperworkers, or people who often had to carry the machine out.

It may not be a machine for heavy editing wires or run pro, but for general use, the MacBook Neo is considered to provide a very good experience, both fluidity, stability, and ease of use.
