Hi, I’m Cherrell!

Here’s a little backstory:

I graduated with an Arts degree at 22 and pursued digital marketing because I believe in that social media can drive positive change.

However, I lost my first full-time job as a social media lead for a gym at 23.

I also ended up resigning from my role as a marketing specialist at 24.

I was burnt out and I knew that I had to hit a hard reset. After I quit my corporate job, I embarked on a mission to find myself…

Now, I’m going against the Singaporean dream to make fitness & social media my 9-5.

I know you’re thinking, that’s an unconventional career. How exactly are you going to make it happen?

Follow along my journey @squidddooo to find out more about my life as an agency owner, content creator & personal trainer 🌻

... Read moreBalancing a career in both fitness and social media isn’t easy, but it’s incredibly rewarding. As a home personal trainer in Singapore, I’ve discovered how flexible scheduling and online classes can create new opportunities to connect with clients and grow my brand. Freelance personal training allows me to tailor programs to individual needs, blending fitness expertise with digital marketing skills to stand out in this competitive space. In Singapore, unconventional jobs in fitness and social media are gaining more recognition. For those considering this path, it's important to stay adaptable, embrace continuous learning, and leverage community support. Platforms like ClassPass and local wellness centers offer great exposure and client networks. I’ve also found that managing my own agency helped me develop knowledge about client service and business operations, which is essential beyond just fitness training. If you’re looking for motivation or practical advice on launching a similar career, exploring online training options, and understanding how to market yourself effectively can make a big difference. Sometimes making it to bed by 10pm, as simple as that sounds, plays a big role in maintaining the energy needed for a demanding yet fulfilling 9-5 unconventional lifestyle. This balance helps me stay focused and passionate about my mission to prove you can create positive change through social media and fitness combined.

Are you performative? Or are you just following the trend? 🍵 What if you genuinely like matcha, reading books, or vibing to music with your wired earphones… but suddenly it’s called “performative”? Like you can’t even enjoy things without someone assuming you’re doing it for aesthetics. You c
