The Beautiful Corpse Bride is back in theaters.
The 20th anniversary of the animated movie Stop - the motion "The Beautiful Corpse Bride" is back in theaters today!
Yesterday had a chance to go and see. I think that for those who missed but still remember the character in this story, or those who remember and want to watch again, should not miss it.
The story is going to be a fictional love triangle of Victor Depp, who has to choose between a living bride like Emily Watson and an underworld bride like Helena Bonham Carter. The movie takes you black into a parallel world between the living and the dead.
And one of the things that makes this movie unique is that it's a stop-motion event that creates characters with stop-motion techniques in every frame. It's really good to watch on the big screen, the more obvious this beautiful Gothic image is!
The soundtrack, for me, is thought to be at the heart of the romantic piano scene, or the funny musical scene in the dead world, all very catchy and memorable.
The strange thing is that at first, the movie looks dull and black and white, but it actually presents a gloomy, lifeless world, a contrast to a dead world full of fun and color, which is probably Tim Burton's presentation in many ways.
And who missed the opportunity in 2005 or was a fan of stop-motion animation, I think this would be a good opportunity to return to the film in a crisp and detailed version...

ถ้าใครกำลังหา “Corpse Bride เรื่องย่อ” แบบอ่านง่าย ๆ ก่อนเข้าดู ผมสรุปให้แบบไม่สปอยล์จุดสำคัญนะครับ เรื่องเริ่มจาก “วิกเตอร์” ชายหนุ่มขี้เขินที่ต้องเข้าพิธีแต่งงานแบบคลุมถุงชนกับ “วิคตอเรีย” ทุกอย่างดูจะไปได้ดี แต่เพราะความประหม่าเลยทำให้เกิดเหตุการณ์พลาดแบบชุลมุน แล้วจู่ ๆ วิกเตอร์ดันไป “สวมแหวน” ให้กับ “เอมิลี่” เจ้าสาวจากโลกคนตายแบบไม่ตั้งใจ กลายเป็นจุดเริ่มของความรักสามเส้า (หรือจะเรียกความสัมพันธ์สุดพิสดารก็ได้) ที่พาเราไปมาระหว่างโลกคนเป็นกับโลกใต้พิภพ สำหรับคนที่เสิร์ชคำว่า “การ์ตูนผีผู้หญิง/การ์ตูนผีเจ้าสาว” แล้วมาเจอเรื่องนี้ บอกเลยว่ามันไม่ใช่หนังผีหลอนตุ้งแช่ แต่เป็นโทนแฟนตาซี-โรแมนติกปนตลกร้ายตามสไตล์ Tim Burton มากกว่า จุดที่ผมชอบคือหนังใช้ความ “หม่น” ให้กลายเป็นเสน่ห์ แถมยังเล่าเรื่องความรัก ความซื่อสัตย์ และการปล่อยวางแบบเจ็บนิด ๆ แต่สวยงาม อีกคำที่คนชอบค้นคือ “เจ้าสาวศพสวย พากย์ไทย” — เวลาจะไปดูในโรง แนะนำให้เช็กรอบให้ชัวร์ว่ามีเวอร์ชันพากย์ไทยหรือซับไทย เพราะแต่ละโรง/รอบอาจไม่เหมือนกัน (ผมเองชอบซับไทยเพราะได้อารมณ์เสียงต้นฉบับและเพลงเต็ม ๆ) ถ้าไปเป็นแก๊งเพื่อนหรือพาน้อง ๆ ไป พากย์ไทยก็จะดูง่ายและเข้าถึงมุกไวขึ้น สิ่งที่การดูในโรงได้เปรียบจริง ๆ คือรายละเอียดงานสต็อปโมชั่นและงานโปรดักชันดีไซน์ โดยเฉพาะฉากที่เห็น “วิคเตอร์ในชุดสูท” กับ “เอมิลี่เจ้าสาวศพสวยในชุดแต่งงานขาดรุ่งริ่ง” ยืนคู่กันบนจอใหญ่ รายละเอียดเนื้อผ้า รอยเย็บ เงา แสง และโทนสีจะเด่นมากจนรู้สึกได้เลยว่าทำทีละเฟรมมันโหดแค่ไหน ถ้าถามว่าควรดูไหมสำหรับคนที่ไม่เคยดูมาก่อน: ผมว่าเหมาะมากถ้าชอบงานกอธิคสวย ๆ เพลงติดหู และเรื่องเล่าที่ทั้งโรแมนติกและขมเล็ก ๆ แบบมีชั้นเชิง ส่วนคนที่เคยดูมาแล้ว การกลับไปดูซ้ำจะเหมือนได้ “เก็บรายละเอียด” ที่เคยพลาด ทั้งสีสันของโลกคนตายที่คึกคักตัดกับโลกคนเป็นที่ดูไร้ชีวิตชีวา ยิ่งดูยิ่งเข้าใจว่าหนังตั้งใจเล่นคอนทราสต์เพื่อเล่าอารมณ์ของตัวละครจริง ๆ
