Habits I Need to Focus as a Marketing Manager
First and foremost… my walking pad is my absolute best friend and non-negotiable at work for me. It is 100% my most used ‘office tool’.
If I’m sitting for too long, my focus drops right away and I am quickly distracted by anything I can get my hands on. But once I’m moving, I can stay locked in on editing, writing, or planning for hours. It sort of 'traps' me at my computer🙂
Bonus: I hit my step count without even thinking about it.
Another habit I've started? Post-it notes.
Every single to-do goes on one. They live right on my desk where I can’t ignore them. I try to write separate ones for each thing, especially if a tasks has multiple steps, so I don't miss anything.
Once I'm done with a sticky to-do, it gets moved to my “completed” section with the rest of the completed tasks from the month.
After a few months on the job, I quickly realized that there is no system to keep track of projects or completed tasks, so I had to build my own. Using my already working sticky notes, I started another habit.
At the end of the month, I take all the completed tasks and add them to a word document. We have monthly and quarterly staff meetings where I have to provide updates of all things marketing so having these notes of tasks I've finished, sorted into monthly word docs now makes this monthly round up SO much easier.
I was really bad at trying to remember all the things I had done when I first started my job so I really apricated this new habit I've formed. It makes future me a lot happier.
It’s a mix of movement, color, and organization that seems to work for me! These habits keep me sane while juggling all the hats I wear as a one-person marketing team.
What’s one habit from your job you can’t imagine giving up?

Walking pad at work? That's genius, but I'd probably trip and fall on my face, I'm too clumsy.
