Part one of our Philippines adventure 🇵🇭
I'm writing to share my first experience flying with China Airlines. The flight was a 14 hour journey with a two-hour layover in Taipei. We opted for premium economy, which included upgraded seats, enhanced food, and exceptional service. This airline truly cares about its passengers and ensures they are well-fed throughout the flight. You have the option to preselect your meal before boarding, and snacks are available during the flight. duration. A nice thick blanket was provided and the IFE included a nice selection of movies, TV shows, games and flight navigation details.
Free WiFi was also included.
Having just experienced China Airlines Premium Economy on my journey to Manila, I wanted to dive a little deeper into why I think it's a fantastic option, especially for long-haul flights like this one. When you're facing 14 hours in the air, comfort becomes paramount, and Premium Economy truly delivers. Let's talk about the seats first, because they make a huge difference. Unlike standard economy seats, these weren't just a bit wider; the recline mechanism is truly innovative. As the OCR noted, 'THE SEATS MOVE FORWARD, NOT BACK.' This means when you recline, your seat doesn't infringe on the personal space of the person behind you. It's a small detail, but it allows for a much more comfortable sleep and easier movement without feeling guilty. The legroom was generous, making it easy to stretch out and get some rest. Then there's the dining. Oh, the dining! The article briefly mentioned 'enhanced food,' but it really needs to be highlighted. Knowing there's 'MICHELIN STAR RATED FOOD' on board sets a high expectation, and China Airlines delivered. The option to pre-select your meal is a game-changer, ensuring you get your preferred choice. I enjoyed two full, delicious meals and appreciated the constant availability of snacks throughout the flight. And speaking of food, if you find yourself with a layover in Taipei, you absolutely MUST try the beef noodle soup. As the OCR emphasizes, 'YOU HAVE TO ORDER THE BEEF NOODLE SOUP IN TAIPEI.' It's a culinary highlight of the journey itself! The amenities kit was another pleasant surprise. Beyond the usual eye mask and earplugs, the 'NICE ROOTS AMENITY KIT' included premium items, most notably 'NOISE CANCELLING HEADPHONES.' These were incredibly effective at blocking out engine hum and cabin noise, allowing for a much more peaceful flight – perfect for enjoying the extensive in-flight entertainment (IFE) system. The IFE selection was vast, with movies, TV shows, and games, but for me, the quiet comfort provided by those headphones really elevated the experience. Little touches also stood out. The 'MUSIC IN THE BATHROOM' was a quirky yet delightful addition – it just added to the feeling of a well-thought-out, premium experience. And yes, the 'CLEAN BATHROOMS' were consistently maintained, which is always a bonus on a long flight. The 'Free WiFi' was reliable enough for checking emails and light browsing, which is a luxury on a transatlantic flight. It truly helps pass the time and stay connected. For anyone considering China Airlines Premium Economy, I wholeheartedly recommend it. If you value comfort, good food, and thoughtful service on a long journey, it's definitely 'worth it' to splurge a little. It turned what could have been a tiring travel day into a genuinely enjoyable start to my Philippines adventure!
