Si Thep Historic Park
Srithep Historical Park is listed as Thailand's 7th World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO, declared on September 19, 2023, Thailand's 4th World Cultural Heritage Site after Sukhothai Historical Park, Sriyutthaya Historical Park and Ban Chiang Archaeological Site.
Located in Srithep District, Phetchabun Province, Srithep Historic Park has a history of more than 800 years, from prehistoric times, continuing into the Dvaravadi and Khmer cultural periods, with distinctive urban plans and important ancient sites such as
- * Inner city *: It has a relatively round urban plan. Inside, it is scattered with up to 48 ancient sites, mostly related to Buddhism and Hinduism.
- Outside City *: There is a rectangular city plan, consisting of over 64 ancient sites, with a large ancient site that is famous as "Outer Castle."
- * He Treasury in *: A large theological place with distinction in both architecture and the arts.
- Prang Si Thep and Prang Two Brothers *: Reflecting the Influence of Khmer Culture in Thailand
- * Outside Treasury *: The largest temple in the National Park, assumed to be the enormous incense of the time of Dvaravadi.
This World Heritage listing not only made this place a common treasure of mankind, but also a testimony to the greatness of Thai civilization and inspired a new generation to learn and take pride in their own roots.
