Nursing school isn't hard because you're not smart.

Most students are balancing work, clinicals, exams, and life

... Read moreNursing school can feel overwhelming when you're juggling multiple responsibilities like work, clinical rotations, and exams. From personal experience, adopting the right study strategies—not just studying longer—makes a huge difference in managing everything effectively. One method that worked well for me was rewriting my notes after each lecture. This helped me process the information actively and put complex topics into my own words, which greatly improved comprehension. Combining this with creating colorful study guides not only made studying more engaging but also enhanced my memory retention by associating different topics with distinct colors. I found scheduling short, consistent study sessions—about 30 minutes daily—more productive than cramming long hours at once. Using a digital calendar to block out study times and exam dates ensured I stayed organized and motivated. Starting exam preparations at least a week in advance allowed me to spread out the workload and reduce stress. Studying with a partner was another game-changer. Practicing active recall together, such as quizzing each other or explaining concepts aloud, reinforced our understanding. The day before exams, intensive review sessions using a whiteboard helped me visualize and memorize key information efficiently. Balancing all this alongside personal life required discipline and realistic goal setting. Remember, nursing school isn’t a test of intelligence alone but also resilience and smart study techniques. If you ever feel stuck with TEAS, HESI, NCLEX, or ATI prep, don’t hesitate to seek support and adjust your approach. It’s about working smarter, not harder.
