Come out:
And it was there in your arms, my head on your shoulder
I felt safe enough to say those words
That moment of vulnerability where
I knew you would love me either way,
But I finally said the words I was so scared to say, Admitting not only to myself, but to you
The truth
And in that moment, the secret I’ve been holding onto for so long escapes my lips some thing that everybody here could tell, but I wasn’t ready to admit
You have watched me grow and bend and change
And even if I am fluid
Even if the words shift in their place
I am still me at the end of the day
And only I know what resonates
Isn’t that beautiful?
The way the labels that we use to confine to describe are both helpful and harmful the way that I could switch out words
Whenever I please
Whenever I need
And it may be a small group of people for now
But I’ve never felt more loved
Felt more safe
