Wildfire, the sequel to Icebreaker was released pretty much exactly 1 year ago. I am just getting to it now 🤣
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I saw a lot of really positive Goodreads reviews but with only 3 stars? maybe some people reserve a 5 star rating only for books with more substance, but I tend to rate books generously, and rate the book in terms of what it was trying to accomplish.
So for example, this book is really only to accomplish a low-stakes fluffy plot with a TON of smut 😅 And it does pretty well.
I personally liked it more than icebreakers. (Didn't like icebreakers because of the Uber scene 😶🌫️ and also the ending of *SPOILER SKIP* stassie getting unplanned pregnancy one year into her career despite the whole book being about how she didn't want that)
🚫Negatives:
- I think some of the side characters are replaceable
- The characters don't have growth so much as just catharsis
- A lot of people don't like the cover, because it's hard to imagine Those cartoons in your head when you read certain parts lmaoooo
But on the positive, this could be a good easy read if you are into that. And in case you were worried that I have fallen to the dark side of boooktok, my next read is Kite Runner 😉
