💰Affordable trial $42 & package (est. $40++ per meal)

MATERNITY ANGELS
💰Expensive trial $88 & package (est. $80++ per meal)
💁🏻♀️Need to return containers (they did not provide disposable bento for trials)
🤤Food is best to my liking
I didn’t take up any of the confinement meal
packages solely because none fully checked my list. I didn’t find them very worth it, except for Tianwei Signature but unfortunately my taste bud prefers it more bland. They are quite nice, even mentioned that they can cater to my taste if I prefer it more bland.
However, I thought that confinement dishes are generally quite normal with lots of ginger.
In the end, I got my helper to cook for me.
However, if you do not have someone who can cook similar dishes, the best I would reco will be Tianwei Signature.
If are planning for confinement meals, always go for the trials to see if the food is to your liking before purchasing the packages! Of course, the customer service is also very important — happy mamas = happy postpartum. ✨
... Read moreChoosing the right confinement meal service can feel overwhelming, especially when balancing taste preferences, budget, and nutritional needs during postpartum recovery. Based on my own experience trying these confinement trials, I found that each has its own unique appeal and considerations.
Tianwei Signature stands out as the most affordable option, with an appealing $20 trial meal and packages estimated at $30-35++ per meal. Their servings include comforting dishes like Braised Pork Trotter in Black Vinegar and Milk-Boosting Fenugreek Green Papaya Milky Fish Soup. While the flavors tended to be on the saltier side for me, they were willing to accommodate taste preferences, which is a valuable aspect for new mothers seeking milder flavors during recovery.
MAMAJ's trial meal, priced at $42 with packages around $40++ per meal, offers a balanced experience with dishes such as Herbal Baked Chicken and Signature Pig Trotter in Black Vinegar. The food was satisfactory but did not particularly stand out to me. However, it could be a reasonable option for those looking for a standard confinement diet.
Maternity Angels, although the most costly with an $88 trial and $80++ package meals, impressed me with food quality that matched my liking very well. The downside is the requirement to return containers due to their non-disposable packaging, which might not be convenient for everyone.
Since none of the packages fully satisfied my list of preferences, I ultimately chose to have my helper cook confinement dishes at home, which allowed me to customize meals to suit my taste—especially important given how much ginger and strong flavors are typical in confinement foods.
When planning for confinement meals, I highly recommend trying the available trial options to ensure the meals meet your taste and nutritional needs. Customer service can also play a crucial role in your overall satisfaction—the happier you are during this phase, the smoother your postpartum journey. These trials provide a helpful glimpse into what you can expect, and when selecting a service, weigh factors like taste customization, price, and convenience carefully.
If you do not have access to someone who can prepare confinement dishes, Tianwei Signature is a strong recommendation for its affordability and willingness to adjust flavors. Lastly, maintaining a positive and flexible mindset can make all the difference as you nourish your body and recover after childbirth.
