Thriller books I rate 5 stars

Book 1: Tell Me What Really Happened by Chelsea Sedoti

-> 5 friends go camping and in the middle of the night one goes missing.

Book 2: That's Not What Happened by Kody Keplinger

-> She saw her best friend die in the school bathroom during a shooting. Everyone thinks she died a certain way, and her parents are writing a book about it. But it's not the truth. (this one might not be considered much of a thriller but still good)

Book 3: The Lake by Natasha Preston

-> Esme and her friend are CIT's at a summer camp. But they did something bad there when they were campers and they've kept it a secret. Then a note appears saying,"The Lake never forgets."

Book 4: 14 Ways to Die by Vincent Ralph

-> Ten years ago Jess's mom was killed. She was the first of 13 victims. Jess has a youtube platform and is trying to catch the killer. everyone is watching, and so is the killer. Could he be closer than she thought?

Book 5: The Island by Natasha Preston

-> 6 influencers are invited to an island with a newly built resort. They are the first people to see it, but it's not what it seems and they can't leave.

Book 6: The Fear by Natasha Preston

-> A meme starts going around in their small town, people post their worst fear. And people start dying the way that scares them the most.

Book 7: Four Found Dead by Natalie D. Richards

-> The theater is closing forever. Jo and her coworkers have their final shift, when the lights turn off and their manager disappears along with the keys and their phones. When they discover a dead body their only chance to escape is through the shut down mall attached to the theater.

Book 8: Five Total Strangers by Natalie D. Richards

-> Mira is on a flight home when a blizzard results in a cancelled layover. Desperate to get home in time for Christmas, she joins a group of college kids in a car who are going to the same place. As they are getting closer to their destination she realizes nobody in the car knows each other, and someone wants the trip to end in disaster.

Book 9: One Of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus

-> 5 people are in detention, and one doesn't make it out. investigators conclude the murder wasn't an accident. They all have reasons to hate him.

... Read moreFinding that perfect thriller, the one that grips you from the first page and doesn't let go until the very last word, is one of the best feelings for any bookworm. My initial list of "5 MY STAR THRILLER BOOKS" barely scratches the surface of the amazing reads out there, but I wanted to dive a bit deeper into what makes these stories truly unforgettable and why they earn a spot on my top-rated shelf. When I think of authors who consistently deliver spine-chilling suspense, Natasha Preston immediately comes to mind. Her books, like 'The Lake,' 'The Island,' and 'The Fear,' are masterclasses in building tension. What I particularly love about her style is how she crafts scenarios that feel terrifyingly plausible, often involving young protagonists facing unimaginable dangers. In 'The Lake,' the idea of a past secret coming back to haunt you at a place you once loved is just chilling. It makes you wonder what skeletons might be lurking in your own past! Then there's 'The Island,' which plays on the classic 'trapped with no escape' trope but adds a modern twist with influencers – a brilliant commentary on our digital lives. And 'The Fear'? The concept of your deepest fears manifesting as your demise is just pure psychological horror gold. Natasha Preston has a knack for creating high-stakes situations where every decision feels critical, and the sense of isolation or vulnerability is palpable. Her narratives are tight, fast-paced, and always leave me guessing until the very end, which is exactly what I look for in a top-tier thriller. Beyond specific authors, what truly elevates a thriller from good to a "5 MY STAR THRILLER BOOKS" read? For me, it's a combination of relentless pacing, unexpected plot twists that genuinely shock you, and characters you can either root for or be utterly terrified by. A great thriller doesn't just tell a story; it makes you a part of the mystery, constantly challenging you to piece together clues and second-guess every character's motive. The atmosphere is crucial too – whether it's the claustrophobia of 'Five Total Strangers' stuck in a blizzard or the eerie silence of a deserted theater in 'Four Found Dead,' the setting often becomes another character, adding to the overall dread. These are the elements that transform a simple narrative into an immersive experience. I find myself drawn to these kinds of thrillers because they offer the perfect escape. When life gets overwhelming, there’s nothing quite like losing yourself in a story where the stakes are life-or-death, and your own problems fade away as you try to solve someone else's murder or escape a perilous situation. It's a mental workout, trying to anticipate the killer or the next twist, and the satisfaction of either being right or completely blindsided is what keeps me coming back for more. These "THRILLER BOOKS" are more than just entertainment; they're a rollercoaster ride for your mind. So, if you're on the hunt for your next gripping read, don't hesitate to dive into books by authors like Natasha Preston, Chelsea Sedoti, or Natalie D. Richards. Look for books that promise unexpected twists, compelling mysteries, and characters that stay with you long after you've turned the final page. Happy reading, and prepare to be thrilled!

books i read in january: part 1
i finished 15 books in january!!! all of these are really good reads. i’m definitely on a thriller kick & these books did not disappoint. the only book that wasn’t quite a thriller was “the girls in the stilt house”, but still a really good read. it has notes of mystery, but not really thrillin
