did anyone else burn right through season 7 of black mirror? it’s a show i absolutely adore - because i love being weirded out and reflecting on our society. i only wish we got episodes more frequently!

if you’re feeling a black mirror gap in the stories you’re consuming, both of these books gave me black mirror vibes. they’re speculative, tech-y, and ask some really interesting questions.

feed them silence is all about human greed and who academia shoves to the side. the foil between the main character’s relationship with her with and relationship with her wife is FASCINATING! this is a pretty short book, but it’s got a lot to say.

womb city genuinely gave me the ick all the way through. imagine your husband reviewing your thoughts and memories once a week?? and then an AI determining if your thoughts make you a safe member of society or not? EUGHH. spooky scary. this is a distressing book with a wacky conclusion that kept me UP reflecting.
