The journal that changed my life

It’s incredible how much of a difference journaling has made on my walk with God! I started writing down prayers, sermon notes, & verses when I was a young teenager. Flash forward to now, I have created a devotional journal to help others in their walk with Christ as well!

MY METHOD: ❕

1. Read any passage in the Bible (length doesn’t matter, however long I’m feeling/ have time for that day!) 📖

2. Write down key verses that stand out or I want to remember.

3. Write key takeaways about the verses: either what I feel like God is speaking through them or notes from additional Bible commentaries I read.

4. Answer some ?’s on my walk with God! Some ideas are worries, hopes, ways God moved that day, etc.

5. Write anything else! More notes or a list of what I’m thankful for.

6. Write a short prayer to apply the message! Or a list of prayer requests for myself and others, and then pray over them 🙏

Aaand that’s it!! Super simple method that has seriously TRANSFORMED my Bible reading time 🤍 #bible #journaling #biblejournaling #biblestudy #christian

... Read moreJournaling is more than just a habit; it's a transformative practice that deepens one's spiritual experiences. Many, including myself, have found that by documenting our prayers, insights, and reflections on scripture, we foster a stronger connection to God. This method not only enhances comprehension but cultivates mindfulness, allowing us to process our thoughts and emotions in relation to our faith. Research suggests that writing can reduce stress and anxiety. In today's fast-paced world, turning back to the pages of a journal helps divert our minds from daily chaos to a tranquil space filled with divine guidance. Each entry becomes a testament to personal growth and an opportunity to revisit moments where we've felt God's presence in our lives. Incorporating questions into our entries, like reflecting on worries or hopes, creates a dialogue with our spirituality—prompting insights that might otherwise go unnoticed. Additionally, many practitioners suggest integrating gratitude lists, which reinforces positivity and encourages acknowledgment of blessings in everyday life. To enhance the journaling process, consider using themed entries focused on scriptural references or life events. Doing so not only individualizes the experience but also prepares us for deeper exploration during Bible study sessions. Viewing past entries can unveil patterns in our spiritual journey, providing a comforting reminder of how far we've come. Ultimately, the practice of Bible journaling can become a profound tool for believers seeking to deepen their faith and understanding of God's word.
