Okay, fellow bookworms, if you’re anything like me, you probably devoured Meagan Brandy’s 'Say You Swear' and immediately felt that hollow ache of finishing a truly unforgettable book! Seriously, I was *obsessed*. That ending, those characters, that intense emotional journey – it just stuck with me. And now you're probably searching for that next read that gives you all the feels, right? I totally get it! Finding books that hit the same spot can be tricky, but after a lot of digging (and a few sleepless nights reading!), I’ve found some amazing recommendations that I think you’ll love if 'Say You Swear' is your jam. First up, if you loved the angsty, friends-to-lovers vibe and the emotional intensity, you absolutely have to pick up 'Bully' by Penelope Douglas. This book kicks off a fantastic series and dives deep into a complex relationship with a history, much like Salome and Ryke's. It's got that undeniable pull between the main characters, high stakes, and a past that constantly haunts their present. You'll find yourself on an emotional rollercoaster, much like when you were turning pages, living through every dramatic twist in 'Say You Swear.' The chemistry is off the charts, and the characters are so flawed and real, you can't help but get completely invested. It might not have a prominent football game backdrop, but the intense, often tumultuous, connection will definitely remind you of the passionate couple embracing on the 'Say You Swear' cover. Next on my 'books like Say You Swear' list is 'The Deal' by Elle Kennedy. If the sports romance aspect and the college setting were big draws for you, then this one is a must-read. While 'Say You Swear' has a football game at its core, 'The Deal' gives you a fantastic hockey romance. It features a grumpy athlete and a smart, witty heroine who initially start as fake study partners, leading to a friends-to-lovers trope that's executed flawlessly. There's banter, heart, and just enough emotional depth to keep you hooked. It captures that college atmosphere and the feeling of young love trying to navigate friendships, responsibilities, and unexpected feelings, reminding me of those poignant, almost polaroid-style photos moments that define youthful relationships. And for a story with a deeply emotional core, past trauma, and a journey toward healing, I highly recommend 'Wait for You' by Jennifer L. Armentrout (writing as J. Lynn). This book has a similar New Adult feel with characters grappling with their pasts while trying to build a future together. It’s a friends-to-lovers story with a significant secret that adds layers of angst and intensity, much like the hidden depths you uncover in 'Say You Swear.' The heroine, Avery, has moved to a new town for a fresh start, and the hero, Cam, is the charming, persistent guy who slowly breaks down her walls. The emotional journey is compelling, and the way they support each other through their struggles is truly heartwarming. It evokes that feeling of a fresh start near a *beach scene with waves*, symbolizing new beginnings yet holding onto past memories. These books all share that addictive quality, strong character development, and emotional impact that made 'Say You Swear' such a standout read for me. I hope these recommendations help fill that book-shaped hole in your heart! What other books do you think are similar? I'm always looking for my next obsession!
