They've started small businesses, revitalized declining neighborhoods, and enriched the cultural fabric with their traditions and languages. The fear that immigrants take away jobs or resources is frequently contradicted by statistics showing their positive involvement in local economies. It's important to understand that the reaction to immigration is deeply personal and shaped by factors such as personal encounters, community narratives, and local politics. Efforts to build bridges and promote understanding between long-time residents and newcomers have helped reduce tension and foster collaboration.
