Some either twist what the Apostle Paul meant in attempts to undermine grace and to support their false doctrines of some works centered gospel, or to even declare that Paul was a liar.
Why? What did Paul teach? Well, let’s look at what he openly declared.
He pointed to Jesus and the finished work of Christ.

1 Corinthians 2:1-2 NASB
"And when I came to you, brothers and sisters, I did not come as someone superior in speaking ability or wisdom, as I proclaimed to you the testimony of God. [2] For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified."
He lifted up Jesus and grace through faith in Jesus over Moses and the old covenant righteousness by obedience to the law, and demonstrated the correct object of faith.

Acts 13:38-39 NASB
"Therefore let it be known to you, brothers, that through Him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, [39] and through Him everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses."
Then he added,
Acts 13:40-41 NASB
"Therefore, see that the thing spoken of in the Prophets does not come upon you: [41] ‘Look, you scoffers, and be astonished, and perish; For I am accomplishing a work in your days, A work which you will never believe, though someone should describe it to you.’”
Here's the gospel truth from Paul.

Ephesians 2:8-9 NASB
"For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; [9] not a result of works, so that no one may boast."
I thank God for his grace offered to us who believe, we who have faith in Jesus as our only source of salvation, and I am thankful for the revelations given to the Apostle Paul that clearly show us our liberty in Christ.
Reflecting on Apostle Paul's teachings has profoundly impacted my faith journey, especially his emphasis on grace over works. Many struggle with the balance between law and faith, but Paul's letters help clarify that salvation is a gift from God received through faith in Jesus Christ, not something we earn by our own efforts. In my experience, trusting fully in the finished work of Christ brings freedom and peace that striving under law never could. The passages cited, such as Ephesians 2:8-9, resonate deeply because they underscore this truth: grace is unmerited favor, and faith is our means of access, not a checklist of deeds. This assurance pushes back against legalistic pressures and false teachings that distort Paul's original intent. Additionally, Paul's pointing to Jesus crucified in 1 Corinthians 2:1-2 helps remind me that the heart of the gospel is Christ's sacrifice, not eloquence or human wisdom. This humble yet powerful message invites believers to center their trust solely on Jesus, which has transformed how I live out my faith daily. Finally, Acts 13:38-41 fascinates me as it reveals the prophetic fulfillment and the radical freedom from the Law offered through Christ. Embracing this truth allows me to celebrate faith's liberating power rather than being burdened by unattainable rules. For anyone wrestling with doubts about salvation or grace, I encourage diving into Paul's epistles with an open heart, allowing the spirit of liberty in Christ to shine through. It is a journey of receiving God’s gift and living empowered by faith, not by works, just as Paul intended.
