Having read multiple ARCs, I find 'Born from the Broken' stands out due to its richly developed protagonist, Elira. Unlike many fantasy heroines, Elira brings years of grief and depth to the story, making her decisions feel authentic and impactful. The inclusion of multiple POVs adds layers of tension and makes the political and magical elements more immersive. The Quadrant Trials concept intrigued me from the start; it’s a unique blend of personal stakes and broader empire politics. One part that resonated deeply was seeing how the author handles morally complex characters like Sorin Valcairn, whose duplicity drives much of the emotional conflict. The dynamic between vengeance and desire is crafted with nuance, adding to the suspense without feeling cliché. The pacing occasionally felt rushed near the end, and I found myself wishing for slower moments to fully absorb pivotal developments and character emotions. For readers who enjoy series with love triangles, morally grey characters, and intricate world-building, this book delivers on all fronts. The early glimpses into various Houses suggest layered storytelling that could expand in future installments. If you appreciate fantasy with a strong heroine at its core, 'Born from the Broken' offers an engaging and emotionally charged experience that left me eager for the next book.
