In today's digital age, establishing internet safety for children is more crucial than ever. Parents increasingly are considering parental controls and restricting social media access until their kids are at least 16. This approach not only encourages children to engage in outdoor activities but also shields them from the potential dangers of online interactions. As parents, it’s essential to have open discussions with your kids about the risks associated with internet use—cyberbullying, inappropriate content, and privacy concerns are just a few of the issues they might face. Balancing online and offline activities helps children develop a well-rounded lifestyle. Encouraging outdoor play, hobbies, and face-to-face interactions fosters essential life skills and emotional resilience. Moreover, as they grow older and seek more independence, equipping them with digital literacy skills becomes vital. Teaching them about responsible internet use will empower them to make safe choices when they eventually join social media. Keeping an ongoing dialogue about their online experiences can help parents stay informed about their children's digital lives. Tools like monitoring apps can aid in ensuring a safe online environment, but fostering trust and communication remains the key to successful parenting in the digital landscape.

it is too dangerous to be online before the age of 16. no matter how many precautions are put in place twisted adults will still find a way to lure in kids of all ages. as a victim of severe grooming from ages 11-16 it's just too dangerous. you kids may think it won't happen to you but the ways it begins are so subtle you won't notice until you are in the trenches.
