Sometimes we have to be a little more aggressive 🤣
In my experience, being a little more assertive or 'aggressive' with clients doesn't mean being rude or disrespectful; it means being confident and clear about expectations and boundaries. This approach often leads to better understanding and respect from clients, as they appreciate honesty and decisive communication. For instance, when managing project timelines or negotiating terms, I sometimes need to be firm to ensure that deadlines are met and standards are maintained. Initially, clients might find this a bit overwhelming, but over time, they recognize that my directness helps keep the project on track and benefits their outcomes. It's crucial to pair this firmness with genuine care and professionalism. Clarifying why certain demands or requests are essential—and showing empathy for clients' challenges—builds trust. Clients feel supported and valued, even when the communication is tough. Moreover, this balance helps prevent misunderstandings and reduces the need for rework or corrections. Clients who know what to expect and understand the rationale behind decisions are more likely to stay loyal and refer others. From personal stories, I've found that a little 'roughness' in communication, paired with respect and transparency, creates stronger, longer-lasting client relationships and ultimately leads to more successful collaborations.
