20 Careers (all levels) for bilinguals
Since most of the content I put out is based on language learning, I thought I would make this post! It’s something I’ve been thinking of lately and wanted to share my research.
That being said, unfortunately some of these are low paid or have high barriers to entry. (Requires a degree, training, etc) Either way I hope this helps if someone was looking for career ideas.
Most of these jobs/career fields don’t require you speak anything but English - but it can be a bonus if you speak something else.
✈️ The Industries/Careers:
-Hospitality/Customer Service
Hotel jobs, Cruises, Airlines, Catering, Resorts, Valet/Private Driver
-Teaching
Teach native language abroad, teach online, live interpretation, translate documents, freelance teaching
-Medical
Travel nurse, caretaker, in home caregiver, hospital receptionist
-Corporate
HR, Gov jobs, Marketing, Customer service rep, international sales (The key is to look for companies with multiple offices abroad)
Make sure to do your research and I hope these gave you some ideas.
🎩 Bonus Tip: Don’t use job boards for anything other than browsing. Your resume is unlikely to get looked at unless you know someone. If you find something you like go to the company’s site and apply there. If you can, reach out on LinkedIn too.
