Happy Sunday ✨
With my new schedule, Sundays have now become work days and Saturdays are my reset days 😅 It’s a big a shift in my normal routine and though it does feel very different I’m glad that I’m slowly getting accustomed to it 😊 Also vibing with today’s OOTD, obsessed with this cozy Nike set and my shirt (which you can’t see but I really love) says margarita on it 🥹
It sounds like so many of us are navigating the new reality of a 'sunday workday'! When I first started having early Sunday work mornings, I really struggled to adjust. It felt like I was losing my precious weekend, and finding that balance seemed impossible. But I've slowly found a few strategies that have made a huge difference, and I wanted to share them in case it helps anyone else out there who's also making this shift. Firstly, setting clear boundaries has been a game-changer. Even if it's a workday, I try to define specific hours for my tasks. For example, I aim to finish by early afternoon so I still have some evening time to relax. This prevents the entire day from feeling consumed by work. It's about consciously protecting pockets of my 'Sunday' even if I'm working. Secondly, creating a dedicated yet comfortable workspace is key. Since my 'early Sunday work mornings' now kick off my week, I make sure my environment is inviting. This includes a fresh cup of coffee, maybe some calming music, and definitely wearing something super comfortable. Just like the cozy Nike set I mentioned – it makes a huge difference to feel relaxed yet ready to focus. It's all about tricking your brain into thinking it's still a chill Sunday, even if you're tackling tasks! Thirdly, I've learned the importance of preparation. On Saturday evenings, I'll quickly jot down my top priorities for Sunday. This way, when those early Sunday work mornings roll around, I'm not wasting time figuring out where to start. It helps me hit the ground running and maximize my productivity during those designated work hours. And don't forget the power of a proper 'reset day' before your Sunday workday! The original post mentioned Saturdays are now reset days, and I couldn't agree more. Using Saturday to completely unplug, do something enjoyable, and recharge mentally makes the transition to a Sunday workday much smoother. If I don't get that reset, I find myself dragging on Sunday. Lastly, make sure to build in small self-care moments. A quick walk, a delicious homemade lunch, or a 15-minute break to read a chapter of a book can prevent burnout. It’s not about working non-stop, but about integrating work into your life without letting it take over completely. It’s a journey, and some Sundays are definitely harder than others, but with these little tweaks, I'm slowly finding my rhythm. What are your tips for making Sunday workdays more manageable?
