Try this *almost effortless* productivity tip!

Austin Kleon has a short section, “Make Lists,” in his new book, “Keep Going.” He offers several suggestions for different types of lists.

Here's my favorite quote from this part: “Lists bring order to the chaotic universe. I love making lists. Whenever I need to figure out my life, I make a list. A list gets all of your ideas out of your head and clears the mental space so you’re actually able to do something about them. When I am overwhelmed, I fall back on the old fashioned to-do list. I make a big list of everything that needs to get done, I pick the most pressing thing to do, and I do it. Then I cross it off the list and pick another thing to do. Repeat."

... Read moreMaking lists is a time-honored strategy for improving productivity and managing tasks effectively. According to productivity experts, lists not only help individuals prioritize their daily responsibilities but also serve as a mental release, alleviating anxiety associated with looming tasks. When tasks are visualized in list format, the overwhelming clutter of thoughts diminishes, allowing for clearer focus on what truly matters. This tactic is especially beneficial for students and professionals alike, as it transforms chaotic schedules into manageable action plans. Productivity author David Allen highlights the importance of maintaining lists, including the intriguing 'Someday/Maybe' list, where ideas that are not urgent but worth considering can be stored for future contemplation. Steven Johnson, another forward-thinking author, promotes a similar approach with his 'spark file,' a dedicated document where creative thoughts are jotted down whenever they arise. By regularly revisiting these lists, individuals can cultivate a sense of accomplishment and maintain momentum towards their goals. Moreover, incorporating techniques for list-making, whether through analog methods like pen and paper or digital applications, can further streamline the process. By nurturing this practice, you not only keep track of your responsibilities but also pave the way for future creativity and productivity, ensuring that important tasks and ideas are never forgotten.
