One critical change I made was adjusting my wake-up time—getting up before 7 a.m. really helped my brain absorb information more effectively. Mornings are incredibly productive because your mind is fresh and less distracted. Another habit to reconsider is studying with friends. While social study groups might seem helpful, they often lead to distractions and shallow understanding. Studying alone allows deeper focus and better retention of the material. I also replaced passive highlighting with active recall methods. Instead of just marking notes, I quiz myself until I can retrieve information without looking. This solidifies knowledge much more effectively. Silencing notifications while studying made a huge difference too. Those small dopamine hits from checking your phone break concentration and waste productive hours. Lastly, letting go of perfectionism helps balance your efforts across subjects. Sometimes aiming for a B in one class frees up time to secure A’s in others, strategically boosting overall GPA. Implementing these changes transformed my study routine, and I believe they can do the same for anyone aiming for top grades.
