Reading Journal Update
One of the main reasons of starting a book journal was to be able to do cute spreads like this after finishing a book. My first book completed in 2026 was Meghan Quinn’s Merry Christmas You Filthy Animal. I loved the first in the series and enjoyed this one too. Lighthearted, dreamy Christmas town, HoT MMC, and some good holiday spice 🔥 Of course it was a little cheesy but that’s how I like my holiday reads. Starting a reading journal has truly transformed my book enjoyment experience. Beyond just jotting down titles and authors, it lets me create charming spreads that celebrate each book uniquely. For instance, my entry for Meghan Quinn’s Merry Christmas You Filthy Animal features imagery inspired by a Christmas tree farm, capturing that festive vibe. This book blends lighthearted romance with holiday spirit, and the hot main male character adds a sizzling touch to the cozy setting of a dreamy Christmas town. I love that kind of holiday read—it’s a little cheesy but in the best way, offering warmth and fun that’s perfect for the season. Keeping track of such books in a journal helps me reflect better on what elements I enjoy most—whether it's the setting, characters, or the holiday cheer. If you’re thinking about starting your own book journal, I highly recommend incorporating artistic elements like themed doodles or stickers related to your book’s plot. It makes the process more creative and gives you a visual recap of your reading journey. Using hashtags like #readingjournal, #bookjournaling, and #holidayreads can also connect you with a community of fellow readers and journalers who share inspiration and discuss their favorite books. Overall, mixing reading with journaling not only boosts my motivation to finish books but deepens my appreciation for the stories. Have you tried a reading journal before?
