Purse clean out 😳😳
Oh my goodness, it's finally time for that much-needed purse cleanout! We all do it, right? That moment when you can't find your keys, your wallet is buried under a mountain of receipts, and you wonder how your bag got so heavy. I know I'm not alone in letting things pile up, but there's something so satisfying about hitting the 'reset' button. Why do I bother with a regular cleanout, you ask? Well, for starters, hygiene! Our bags go everywhere with us, sitting on various surfaces, and collecting all sorts of dust and crumbs. A good cleanout isn't just about organizing; it's about giving your bag a fresh start, inside and out. Plus, it makes finding things so much easier and reduces unnecessary weight, which my shoulder definitely appreciates! My process usually starts with the 'everything out' method. Literally, I dump every single item onto a clean surface – usually my bed or a desk. It can be a little shocking to see the sheer volume of stuff that comes out! Once everything is out, I categorize. First, the obvious trash: old receipts, candy wrappers, empty gum packets, and sometimes even a forgotten grocery list. Into the bin they go! Next, I sort into 'keep,' 'relocate,' and 'maybe.' 'Keep' items are my daily essentials – wallet, phone, keys, lip balm, hand sanitizer, and ideally, my reusable WATER bottle! Staying hydrated is so important, and having water readily available saves me money and plastic. 'Relocate' items are things that found their way into my purse but actually belong in my office, back home, or in a different bag. Think stray pens, unread mail, or that one earring that somehow ended up there. The 'maybe' pile is for those items I think I might need but haven't touched in weeks. Usually, these end up being decluttered too. After everything is sorted, I give the inside of my bag a good shake and sometimes even a quick vacuum (if it's fabric) or wipe-down (for leather or synthetic materials). It's amazing how much dust and stray bits collect in there. To keep things organized after the cleanout, I swear by small pouches. I have one for makeup essentials, one for tech items like earbuds and a charging cable, and another for 'just in case' items like pain relievers, band-aids, or hair ties. This way, everything has its place, and I can easily swap items between bags without losing track of them. A clean purse just feels... lighter, both physically and mentally.
