Luck: “Success brought by chance rather than through one’s actions”
How I lucked out with 2 best friends as parents, I don’t know….. What I do know is how grateful I am. For this moment. This life. These people.
Today my mom and dad got to hear me talk to ATC for the first time as a jet Captain. The air traffic controller was kind enough to allow me to thank my parents for all they’ve done. They got me here. THEY are the reason for my success. THEY are the reason I am who I am. I owe them every ounce of my success with the lessons they’ve taught me. Through my hardships they were there. Through my loneliness they were there. Through everything…….. they were ALWAYS there. & I owe them my life for that.
I recognize how silly this event may seem, but life is so short….. so these small moments mean the world to me.
Mom, you are my idol & I envy the woman you are. I only hope to turn out to be half as astonishing as you. You’ve shown me how to be brave & to always rise above. To be humble & to ALWAYS be kind. To treat everyone as your equal, & to love with everything you have to give.
Dad, you are my rock. You are the man that has always shown me what I deserve, & to never settle for less. You’ve shown me to be strong, courageous, & to never take crap from anyone but you. To depend on myself & to trust those who earn it.
This is living. 🤍
