How do you keep happy goats on your homestead?
Believe it or not goats get bored. And when goats get bored they cause a ruckus. If they aren’t given something to do they will find something to do. They may do things like jump the fence, try and chew on things they shouldn’t, knock their water buckets over, etc. The grass is always greener on the other side with goats, UNLESS you give them entertainment and enrichment. One thing I have done to make sure our goats live a happy, exciting life is build them a little playground to play on, it’s simple yet intriguing. I used free pallets and old tires for a very inexpensive play area. This gives them a different perspective/height, and the bouncy tires challenge their ability to balance themselves at different heights. They can nap inside the pallet hut if they want. I plan to add some spools, a slide,and more bridges, as well as a scratching post for added fun. Then in the spring I will paint it! #gettoknowme
