This bowl is MASSIVE, warm, comforting, tastes like creamy oats… but has a secret ingredient 👀🥣
EGG WHITES.
And before you say it — no, it doesn’t taste eggy 😂 It just makes the oats ridiculously high in protein and gives you so much more volume for barely any extra calories. Honestly, this is one of my favourite hacks during winter when I want something warm, filling and comforting without blowing my calories.
Macros for this entire bowl:
✨ 297 calories
✨ 31g protein
✨ 26g carbs
✨ 7g fats
What you need:
• 30g rolled oats
• 200ml boiling water
• 10g chia seeds
• 250ml egg whites
• 50g blueberries
• Sweetener of choice
Method:
Add oats, boiling water and chia seeds into a pot over medium heat and whisk for a couple of minutes until thickened. Slowly pour in the egg whites while mixing FAST (your arm workout for the day 😂). Keep stirring for around 5 minutes until thick and creamy.
Top with heated blueberries and sweetener of choice — I use MyProtein FlavDrops because otherwise it can taste a little bland.
This is proof that fat loss meals do NOT have to be tiny rabbit food portions 🙅🏼♀️
Adding egg whites to oats is a game-changer that many might not have considered before, but it truly elevates a simple breakfast into a powerhouse of nutrition and fullness. From personal experience, blending egg whites into cooking oats not only boosts the protein content significantly but also creates a silkier texture that rivals traditional creamy porridge—without any eggy taste, as egg whites have a neutral flavor. For those who prioritize both fat loss and satiety, this method offers an excellent balance. It ensures that your meal is substantial enough to keep hunger at bay through the morning, which helps prevent unnecessary snacking later on. I’ve found that the secret lies in continuously stirring the oats and egg whites together over medium heat; this prevents curdling and produces a luscious, thick consistency that’s very satisfying. Incorporating chia seeds adds another layer of nutritional benefit, contributing fiber and omega-3 fatty acids, which support digestive health and provide long-lasting energy. Blueberries not only bring natural sweetness and antioxidants but also add a pleasant contrast in texture and flavor. For those who are calorie-conscious, using a no-calorie sweetener or flavored drops, like MyProtein FlavDrops, is a clever way to enhance the taste without adding sugars or unwanted calories. This makes the bowl ideal for winter mornings when you want something cozy and fulfilling yet aligned with your health goals. I recommend experimenting with different berries or nuts for added texture and nutrients, though the core idea of using egg whites remains a simple, effective nutritional hack. This dish is proof that eating for fat loss doesn't mean compromising on taste or volume.

I love this and I add vanilla protein powder for flavour and added protein ❤️
