Growing up, there are always moments of insecurities on all levels. Whether it’s food, clothing, money… There was always a reason why start “it couldn’t be“.
Today, as amom, I feel like those past generational curses needed to end somewhere. I don’t like making my daughter feel like she can’t have her space to express her likes, needs, and wants. If she wants something out to eat on a specific day, I’d be glad to get it for her – behavior willing.
I grew up, not having specific outlets, or special access to certain things when I knew that they were available. That made me feel insecure about certain things and questioning “why are things like this?”.
Truth be told I was a young teenager witnessing financial depression. I never understood why my mom asked if I had McDonald’s money, but as a new member of the 30s club and a millennial, I understand that this can be no more.
