Am I think too much ??
Hi 🍋
Last week was a big step for me — I met my boyfriend’s parents for the very first time. 🫣💗
It went well, and I was excited to share it with my own parents.
When I told them, though… they didn’t say anything. No “How was it?”, no “What do they think of you?”, not even a curious smile. Just silence.
I’m the first daughter, and I’ve always been kind and sweet to my family. I know my parents love me so much — they’ve always supported my choices in life as long as it’s reasonable and good for me. They’ve trusted me with my decisions and my future.
But this time, I’m feeling a little confused.
Why no response from them? 🤷🏻♀️
Do they like him but just don’t know how to show it?
Do they need more time to process this step in my life?
Or maybe… they’re simply too busy and didn’t think much of it?
But tbh It’s strange how silence can sometimes speak louder than words. 🫢
It makes me think…
Are they quietly observing? Testing my seriousness? Or just letting me figure things out myself?
Either way, I’m holding onto the belief that they want the best for me — because deep down, I know they always have. ❤️
Have you ever experienced something like this with your parents?
Did you get silence instead of a reaction?
What did it mean for you?

My parents are similar, but I’ve come to understand that to them they are in a way ‘giving away’ their daughter to another family. Some need time to process that, I think it is different for parents with daughters compared to sons. Ultimately they will always mean well! 🙆🏻♀️
