“The Shift” — Life Happens For You

For a long time, she lived as though life was something that kept happening to her.

Every heartbreak, every failure, every storm, it all felt like punishment.

She carried pain like proof that the universe had turned its back on her.

When people said, “Everything happens for a reason,” she wanted to scream.

Because how could there be a reason for pain that deep?

For loss that endless?

But then came the quiet years…

the ones where she had nothing left to chase, nowhere left to run.

That’s when she began to listen.

She noticed how every detour had taught her something her comfort never could.

How the wrong people had shown her what loyalty truly means.

How every closed door was never rejection, but redirection.

And one morning, it clicked.

Life was never happening to her.

It was always happening for her.

To stretch her, refine her, prepare her for the things she’d prayed for but wasn’t ready to hold yet.

The pain wasn’t proof of her weakness, it was evidence of her becoming.

Now, when the storms come, she doesn’t ask, “Why me?”

She asks, “What is this trying to teach me?”

And just like that, she shifts…

from victim to vessel.

From wounded to wise.

From broken to becoming.
