There was a time when I felt like I had to constantly explain myself. People would assume things about my life, my intentions, or my decisions; and I would fight so hard to prove that what they believed about me wasn’t true.
I wanted them to understand me. I wanted them to see my heart. But I learned something along the way. Some people only understand life from the level of their own perception. And no amount of explaining will change that.
Trying to prove yourself to people who have already decided who you are is exhausting. It will drain your peace and make you question yourself.
I had to learn to stop fighting for validation and start remembering who God says I am.
God calls me chosen, redeemed, and His.
“And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32
The truth is, you don’t have to spend your life correcting every misunderstanding or defending every rumor. Your character will speak. Your fruit will show. And God sees what others misunderstand.
So if you’re a woman who has been hurt by the words, assumptions, or opinions of others, let this be your reminder today: You don’t have to prove your worth to people. Just keep walking in who God created you to be. The right people will recognize it. And the ones who don’t, were never meant to define you in the first place.

This shift in focus from seeking validation to embracing my authentic self has improved my emotional resilience. For anyone struggling with hurt caused by others’ words or misconceptions, my advice is to center your identity and worth on your own values and beliefs, rather than on external approval. It’s about walking confidently in who you were created to be and trusting that the right people will see and appreciate that. Those who do not are simply not meant to define or limit your journey. Ultimately, peace comes from within when you stop trying to meet others’ expectations and start being true to yourself, aligned with your faith and inner truth.
