From my personal journey spanning over 35 days and multiple European countries, I found that in cities like Prague and Amsterdam, authorities rarely asked for ID, which was quite surprising. This relaxed approach to ID checks can ease travel stress and make exploring more spontaneous. However, despite this leniency, it’s still essential to carry proper travel documents such as passports during international travel within Europe to avoid any potential issues. Interestingly, many European destinations are part of the Schengen Area, allowing passport-free movement across member countries once inside the zone. This agreement contributes to fewer identity checks, but it does not mean travelers should be complacent. I also noted that although I only used my passport once during these 35 days, I kept it on me at all times as a precaution.
