Dusting our living room 4 dogs edition
Living with four dogs means dusting our living room is always a unique challenge. Over the past couple of months, I’ve learned that maintaining a clean space requires both consistent effort and pet-friendly approaches. Dust and pet hair accumulate quickly, especially when you have energetic dogs that love lounging and playing indoors. One effective strategy I’ve found is to establish a regular cleaning routine where I dust and vacuum at least twice a week. This frequency helps control the buildup of dust after one or two months of less frequent cleaning, making the task more manageable and satisfying. Using microfiber cloths works best for trapping fine dust particles rather than just moving them around. I also focus on decluttering the living area to reduce surfaces where dust and pet dander settle. Choosing washable slipcovers and pet blankets helps maintain cleanliness while accommodating my dogs' comfort. Additionally, investing in an air purifier with a HEPA filter significantly reduces airborne allergens and dust, improving air quality in the room. Sharing these experiences as a dog mom balancing pet care and home decor, I encourage others to embrace a realistic mindset when cleaning with pets around. It’s not about perfection but consistency, using tools and techniques that suit both your lifestyle and your furry friends. With patience and the right methods, a dust-free living room even with multiple dogs is definitely achievable and rewarding.
