Self-love 🫶🌸✨
Self-love isn't a destination you reach once you’ve checked off every goal on your list. It is the quiet act of accepting and loving yourself exactly where you are today. I've had 53 journeys around the sun and I'm constantly encouraging women to love themselves how and where they are, in this precise moment.
Sharing my filter less face took courage. But, I too, want to honor the person who showed up this morning...me! 🥰 I have history, growth, pain, sorrows and I still have unfinished business. However, before I look forward I want to look in and love the version I am right now... flaws, faults and all. This version of me is worthy of appreciation and gratitude for everything and all of my experiences.
This gives me heart peace.
I've found that practicing self-love is not about reaching a perfect state but about embracing myself fully at every stage of life. This journey includes celebrating the person I see each morning in the mirror, just as they are—imperfections included. It’s inspired by a simple but powerful reminder: "Love Yourself As you are, FIRST." This phrase has helped me pause and show compassion toward myself instead of rushing to fix or change. Self-love can often feel challenging, especially when confronted with our own vulnerabilities. For me, sharing an unfiltered photo was a breakthrough moment. It symbolized acceptance and courage. It’s vital to recognize that every experience—joy, pain, growth, or setback—shapes our unique story and contributes to our worth. If you’re looking to start or deepen your self-love practice, try setting aside time each day to reflect on your qualities and achievements without judgment. Speak kindly to yourself and acknowledge your emotions without shame. Remember, self-love is not about perfection; it is about honoring your authentic self consistently. Incorporating small rituals like journaling what you appreciate about yourself or even repeating affirmations, such as "I am worthy of love and kindness," can cultivate inner peace. This nourishment of the heart enhances resilience and brings a genuine sense of contentment—just like the peace expressed in the original article. Ultimately, loving yourself where you are today lays a strong foundation for future growth and happiness. It’s a continual practice and a gift you can give yourself every single day.
